WOD for a Cause: Help Wounded Veterans reach Annapolis in the Race Across America
April 10, 2013 by 1 Comment
Come show your support for Wounded Veterans and our fellow CrossFitter, Amanda Rasmussen. CrossFit Annapolis is partnering with Team4Mil to host a fundraiser in support of the Team4Mil Wounded Veteran rehabilitative cycling program. Amanda is a board member of Team4Mil, in addition to assisting in raising funds. You can regularly see Amanda attend our CrossFit Classes and Strength.
The fundraiser will be performed as a Workout of the Day (WOD) consisting of body-weight exercises that anyone can do and it is open to the public. In addition to the CrossFit style WOD, there will be a “Tap Out” competition to test participants’ endurance for prizes. All proceeds will benefit Team4Mil and its Wounded Veteran athletes in the Race Across America.
WHEN: Saturday, April 20, 2013
TIME: 11 a.m
WHERE: CrossFit Annapolis
Participants can register on-site the day of the event. There is a suggested $20.00 donation and prizes will be given out to the winners of the “Tap Out” competitions. All proceeds will go directly to Team4Mil.
The Race Across America is an endurance sporting event that take cyclists of all levels from Oceanside, CA, to Annapolis, MD. They travel 3000 miles across 12 states and climb more than 170,000 vertical feet. This is all done in no more than nine days. Team4Mil works with Wounded Veterans and active-duty service members to train and compete in the test of speed, endurance, strength and camaraderie. Team4Mil focuses on mentoring, training and logistical support for Wounded Veteran individuals and teams with its capstone event being the Race Across America.
